PANGEA is a social project looking for helping in the integration of the immigrant communities by means of spreading and getting to know facts and aspects of other cultures thus building up an atmosphere of multiculturalism and tolerance. This will give people a chance to get closer to human beings whose background may be more or less different, more or less distant; think and try to understand why some particular behaviours or traditions take place, and so work on demolishing certain stereotypes and prejudices still existing in the society. It is not a matter of shaping your mind, but providing resources to make a more complete opinion by yourself. As the Spanish philosopher Fernando Savater once said: "Think whatever you want, but think it".
The main activity PANGEA is based on consists of a radio show whereby the culture of the different nations is explained through joyful dialogues with immigrants who speak about their home countries under an umbrella of comfort by means of traditional and representative music to make some atmosphere. Likewise, there is space for written articles dealing with similar issues, complemented with several parallel events that will complete the whole purpose of it.
The origin of this project dates back to early 2013 when the radio show 'AEGEEncia de viajes' broadcasted on Radio Universitaria de León (León, Spain) from February to June same year recording an overall of 13 programmes. After that it began as PANGEA itself on Radio Brithispana (Birmingham, UK) from October 2013 to February 2014 covering an overall of 15 programmes.

PANGEA es un proyecto social que busca ayudar en la integración de las comunidades inmigrantes mediante la difusión y el dar a conocer hechos y aspectos de otras culturas, construyendo así una atmósfera de multiculturalidad y tolerancia. Esto le dará una oportunidad a la gente para acercarse a seres humanos cuya formación puede ser más o menos diferente, más o menos distante; pensar y tratar de entender por qué algunos comportamientos o tradiciones particulares tienen lugar, y por lo tanto trabajar para derribar ciertos estereotipos y prejuicios todavía existentes en la sociedad. No se trata de moldear tu mente, sino de ofrecer los recursos para que forjes una opinión más completa por ti mismo. Como el filósofo español Fernando Savater dijo una vez: "Piense lo que quiera, pero piénselo".
La principal actividad en la que se sustenta PANGEA consiste en un programa de radio por el que la cultura de las diferentes naciones se explica a través de diálogos amenos con inmigrantes que hablan sobre sus países nativos bajo un paraguas de comodidad por medio de música tradicional y representativa para ambientarlo. Asimismo, hay espacio para artículos que tratan con asuntos similares, complementado con eventos paralelos que completarán el propósito general.
El origen de este proyecto data atrás en el tiempo hasta comienzos de 2013 cuando el programa de radio 'AEGEEncia de viajes' se produjo en la Radio Universitaria de León (León, España) desde febrero hasta junio de ese mismo año retransmitiendo un total de 13 programas. Después de eso comenzó como PANGEA en sí en Radio Brithispana (Birmingham, Reino Unido) desde octubre 2013 hasta febrero 2014 cubriendo un total de 15 programas.
