GREECE. Elections: looking at Brussels? / GRECIA. Elecciones: ¿mirando a Bruselas?

(Castellano)
(English)

Lukas Papademos, technocrat Prime Minister
On 6th May Greece is running elections involved in a big financial crisis and governed, so far, by a coallition Government led by the technocrat Lukas Papademos. The public debt (160% GDP) is being the main Achilles heel, but one must not forget the important austerity measures applied, whose effects are already seen in the society. The unemployment rate has rised up to almost 22%, wages are getting lower, and prices higher which makes a vicious circle of much less consumerism and redundancies.

CROATIA. Integration into the EU / CROACIA. Integración en la UE

(English)

(Castellano)

Croatia is close to become the 28th member of the EU, previewed on 1st July 2013. The Balkan country recently held a referendum of acceptance whose results showed a 66% of approval within a 44% of turnout. Around 20 years after getting its independence, Croatia looks at Europe no matter the troubles the Old Continent is dealing with. Precisely, many analysts wonder if this is the best moment for applying.

EURO CRISIS

The Nobel of Economics affirms that “the fiscal integration has to go beyond just punishing countries with big deficits”

Chris Sims suggests its mixture with some transfer resources from rich to poor at bad times

FERNANDO GUTIÉRREZ CHICO, STOCKHOLM
The complete integration of the Economic Monetarian Union (EMU) should not only penalize countries when they are down, but show its strong support in times of stress. This is the main idea about a potential future of the Eurozone reasoned by the 2011 Nobel Prize in Economics, Christopher Sims (Washington DC, 1942), in an interview with Mundonoticiass.

SWEDEN. Current political, economic and foreign policy situation / SUECIA. Actual situación política, económica y exterior.

 (English)

 (Castellano)

Have you ever wondered how life is going all over Sweden? This Scandinavian country is governed since 2006 by the Conservative alliance lead by the Moderate Party with Fredrik Reinfeldt, the current Prime Minister, on its head. This union repeated victory in 2010 over a Social Democratic Party which is trying to reinventing itself. In addition, the last elections brought a new parliamentary stage where the controversial Swedish Democrats got representation for the first time in its life.

VÄLKOMMEN TILL GÖTEBORG

Gothenburg on the map /
 Gotemburgo en el mapa (world66)

(English)

(Castellano)

Gothenburg is the second largest town in Sweden. Located on the Western coast of the country, Gothenburg is one of the main Swedish economy engines because of the several companies established all over the city as Volvo or Ericsson, as well as by its harbour, the biggest and most active one throughout Scandinavia.
Göteborg mixes the industrial atmosphere of its factories with some of the best landscapes all around the region. And we can't forget to talk about Chalmers University, one of the most worth symbols of the city. But, not everything is working and studying, so at the heart of the city there are some of its most impressive museums, such as Universeum (http://www.universeum.se/) and the World Culture Museum (http://www.varldskulturmuseet.se/), or in addition the leisure park Liseberg.
Fernando Gutiérrez Chico walks around Gothenburg and shows this city by interviews and personal experiences.

11-S: ONE DECADE, ONE GENERATION

On 11th September 2001, few minutes before 9 o'clock (NY time), USA and the rest of the world attended, sadly, to a historical change. Majority of population throughout the Earth watched on live how two planes crashed against the Twin Towers in New York City, and how after, that another aircraft did the same at the Pentagone in Washington DC. Less than 3,000 people died.

It has been the worst attack suffered by USA on its ground. There are lots of conspiracies about it. Later, Afghanistan and Irak wars happened. A new international concern, world terrorism, developed strongly. In that time George W. Bush was the US President, now it's Barack Obama's turn.

From Mundonoticiass want to dedicate a tribute to 9/11. This special report is focused on the people of the future: youth. What's the role that youth is playing in all of this?

Lots of young people, from everywhere, share their impressions, their feelings about that moment. In addition, Fernando Gutiérrez Chico interviews Benjamin Kappel, a 20-years-old American boy, borned in New York, but living in Georgia state, who comments how he observes the current American young society.

CHIPRE.

Archivo:Belgium.geohive.gif
